Success Story: Building Our Dream - It's A Great Feeling
"Our introduction to Umpqua CDC (NeighborWorks Umpqua) was through another property in our town of Drain. The house was for sale, so we inquired and decided the house was a little too small for our needs. At that time, Umpqua CDC (NeighborWorks Umpqua) introduced their Mutual Self-Help Housing program.
We attended some of their classes pertaining to home ownership. After every class and meetings with staff, we felt positive about the program and home ownership. We knew that we could do it!
It's a great feeling to be part of a building process, to know every step and procedure and to see the quality of materials and craftsmanship.
Yes, it's sometimes a challenge, but with help from the supervisor and staff, all is overcome and the outcome is good. To see our hard work and perseverance come to life and shape into a beautiful home is such a great reward.
We will never forget the times we had and the process of working with each of our neighbors and the community.
Thank you so very much for this opportunity."
