What is Technical Assistance?
NeighborWorks Umpqua provides technical assistance to small rural communities to help fund and manage infrastructure development projects and community facility upgrades.
Our services include historic building renovations, street and storm drainage improvements, water and sewer upgrades, food bank and senior center development - as well as park and play structures.
Our technical assistance covers all aspects of projects from pre-development and obtaining funding to the final ribbon cutting.
Current projects include include:
NeighborWorks Umpqua is currently preserving and rehabbing the 49-unit Brookside Court Apartments for seniors and disabled tenants.
Technical Assistance for Community Projects
NeighborWorks Umpqua provides rural communities in Southwest Oregon with technical assistance that includes funding community facilities, project management, grant writing and administration.
In 2010 we assisted the City of Roseburg with a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) that enabled Casa de Belen, a homeless teen shelter, to purchase their facility. They are able to apply for additional funding for support and to upgrade their facility.
In 2008 we assisted Umpqua Community Action Network (UCAN) administer a CDBG grant to help build their new facility and warehouse.
NeighborWorks Umpqua is committed to help communities develop projects such as these.
