Think Local Umpqua
Promoting locally owned businesses
NeighborWorks Umpqua's MEDAL program staff works with business owners, farmers, community members, and government officials to form the grassroots initiative called Think Local Umpqua. We promote locally owned businesses and encourage consumerism of locally made products and services to establish greater local economic stability.
This independent business alliance provides collaborative marketing opportunities, networking events, public education campaigns, professional development opportunities, and other community building activities.
Think Local Umpqua encourages local citizens to support their community by thinking local first when buying goods and services. By doing this, we can have a tremendous impact on our local economy. The results of this effort are increased employment, more purchasing power, lower taxes, and improved food security.
Think Local Umpqua further serves to integrate MEDAL clients into the wider business community, and foster a culture of entrepreneurship in the NeighborWorks Umpqua service area.
