From skilled lawyers to passionate community members, our board members come from all sorts of different professions, backgrounds, and neighborhoods. Read what our Chair of the Board, Jake Winn, has to say about serving on the NWU Board of Directors in his own words.

“I have worked in natural resource management with the US Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for my entire career.  I am currently a manager at the BLM in Roseburg, where I have been for the past 17 years.  I have always been impressed by the organization’s work.  It is tremendously productive and effective.  I was honored to be asked to serve on the board for these last six years.

I would highly recommend joining our Board of Directors because NWU is a highly functional organization and provides a tremendous array of services throughout Southern Oregon.  Serving on its board is an excellent way to help the organization continue to deliver these services. In addition to positively impacting the rural communities in Southern Oregon, you will receive expert training. The opportunity to attend training with fellow board members will help keep you engaged and well-equipped to create lasting change in our communities.”
