Used building materials warehouse seeks your help finding a new Grants Pass location

Roseburg, OR (April 3, 2019) Heartwood ReSources (HRS) is thrilled to announce that plans to expand the used building materials retail warehouse to Grants Pass are nearly finalized. One of the last steps in the process, however, is proving difficult: finding the right location!   Heartwood ReSources has targeted June 2019 for the store’s grand opening, but in order to meet funding deadlines, a location needs to be identified soon in order to bring the store to the area.

“We plan to open in June but it’s coming up fast. We’ve been working with a broker to help us identify a property that could be used for our store, but we’re having trouble finding an ideal location,” explained HRS General Manager Marla Zoeter. “We are reaching out to the community hoping that someone might be able to give us a lead on a location that might not currently be advertised as available.  We need between 6,000 and 10,000 square feet with an office, restrooms, roll-up bay doors, a fenced storage area for vehicles, and a drive through parking lot.”

Heartwood Resources began as a job opportunities program of NeighborWorks Umpqua in 2001 and went on to secure its own nonprofit 501(c)(3) status in 2005.  Heartwood ReSources and NeighborWorks Umpqua are devoted to promoting equity for all and this project will bring a greater physical presence for both nonprofit organizations to Josephine County.

This planned expansion will add a recycled building supply store to Grants Pass, provide new job opportunities, new recycling avenues for the area, and will improve the area’s economic vitality. The expansion is fully funded thanks to grant awards from the private Oregon foundation, Meyer Memorial Trust, and the Department of Environmental Quality. With local help, the organization hopes to identify a location in Grants Pass for its next store.

“Heartwood ReSources provides low-cost building supplies while providing an important environmental service, and needs a fairly large retail space with easy access for vehicles to drop off donations. If you know about a site that would be a good fit, please call HRS at 541-671-5851,” said Zoeter.
