Apr. 6, 2021

New NeighborWorks Umpqua CFO, Rebecca Heinricy

We are excited to announce our new CFO, Rebecca Heinricy, who has joined our organization, today, April 5th. Rebecca comes to us from Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission, a nonprofit community action agency located in California with over 1,200 employees. She served as a financial officer and brings years of experience and expertise in finance and accounting practices.

Rebecca earned her master’s degree in accountancy and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting, graduating with magna cum laude from the University of Denver in Colorado. She also is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in two states.

In our conversations with Rebecca, she mentioned that she looks forward to the opportunity to establish leadership, vision, and integrity within an organization that positively impacts the lives of the people within the communities we serve.

Rebecca will bring immediate financial support and success to our agency and our staff. She will be working remotely and then relocating to the Oregon area with her family in June at the end of the school year.

New NeighborWorks Umpqua Interim CEO, Betty Tamm

We are proud to announce that our former CEO of NeighborWorks Umpqua, Betty Tamm, will be serving as interim CEO.

Betty was with NeighborWorks Umpqua for 19 years and in that time grew it from its infancy to a corporation with seven lines of business. When she started her career with NWU, there were just 30 housing units and she was one of two employees. At the point of her retirement in 2015, NeighborWorks Umpqua managed over 400 housing units and had grown to 60 employees.

As an innovator, Betty not only grew the organization in numbers, but she also established NWU as one of the most entrepreneurial and innovative nonprofits in Oregon. She drove economic growth in our communities through a wide range of development projects, from providing housing for special-needs groups, restoring historic buildings to preserving wetlands. Betty built a staff who provided a full line of homeownership resources from homebuyer education, home repairs to foreclosure counseling. She brought the IDA (Individual Development Account) savings program, also well-known as DreamSavers, to our region, which enabled hundreds of people to learn how to achieve financial security, save for a home, or pay for higher education. Dedicated to environmental responsibility, Betty started Heartwood ReSources, our 15,660 sq. ft. retail store of reclaimed construction materials that saves consumers’ money, saves our landfill, and reduces emissions.

Betty brings a depth of knowledge of NeighborWorks Umpqua, and she will help lead the organization in driving our mission forward working closely with the Board of Directors.
