Need Help with Mortgage Payments and Utilities Because of COVID-19?

Coos and Douglas County Mortgage and Utility Assistance Program is Now Accepting Applications.

Homeowners in Coos and Douglas County may qualify for up to 6 months of unpaid mortgage and utility payments per household.


Assistance can cover past due mortgage, property taxes, insurance, late fees, heat and electricity. Assistance goes directly to loan servicers, tax assessor, and utility companies.

Who should apply? 
  • Meet the program’s income limits (see table below).


  • Are seeking assistance for their primary, owner-occupied residence in Coos or Douglas County, Oregon.

  • Have experienced financial hardship due to COVID-19.

  • Have received a late mortgage payment notice from their loan servicer or a notice of unpaid property taxes from the Coos County Assessor.

  • Have mortgage or property tax arrears no more than $20,000 that date after April of 2020 and are not being paid by any other assistance program.

Note that income includes all sources including salary, wages, tips, and public benefits programs such as SNAP, TANF, and SSI.

$4,563/month or $54,750/year

4 Person Household

$5,067/month or $60,800/year

5 Person Household

$5,475/month or $65,700/year

6 Person Household

$5,879/month or $70,550/year
