What is the Dream$avers IDA Program?
  • Dream$avers is a matched savings program that helps you grow your savings to achieve a specific savings goal, such as buying a home or vehicle.

  • We match every $1 you save with an additional $5 for your Dream$avers account. You can save up to $1,800 and receive up to $9,000 in matched funds.  


  • You’ll save for at least 3 months, but you have up to 3 years to save if needed.


  • As part of Dream$avers, you’ll get free financial classes and coaching through NeighborWorks Umpqua to help you stay on track to meet your savings goal.
Am I Eligible for Dream$avers?

To be in Dream$avers:


  • You must live in Coos, Curry, Douglas, or Josephine County. 


  • Your household income must fit the guidelines provided.


  • Your household net worth must be less than $20,000. We do not count the value of your home (if you are a homeowner), one vehicle, and up to $120,000 in retirement accounts. This will be explained if you are selected in the lottery.


If I’ve been in Dream$avers before, can I apply again?

If you've completed Dream$avers in the past and spent any match dollars, you can't apply again to NWU’s savings programs. Search for other IDA Programs to apply to through Oregon IDA Initiative.

What Can I Save For in Dream$avers?


  • Home Purchase. Save for a down payment on a home.


  • Home Repair. Save for repairs needed for the health and safety of your home, such as a new roof.


  • Small Business. Save to start or grow a business you own.


  • Education. Save for university, community college, trade or technical school, or contribute to a 529 college savings account.


  • Vehicle Purchase. Save for a car or truck.


  • Assistive Technology/Dental. Save for items needed to improve your ability to work, including dental care.


How do I apply?

  • We use a lottery system to randomly choose who can apply for the Dream$avers Program. Enter using the link below if you believe you’re eligible.


  • Your entry will stay active until the end of the calendar year. Any duplicate entries will be removed.


  • Your entry will be considered in any lottery drawings that may occur this year. Lottery drawings will be scheduled as funding allows.


  • Anyone not selected will be notified by email in January 2027 to enter again for the new lottery year.


  • If you are selected, you will be notified by your preferred contact method and provided instructions for applying to Dream$avers.
